Fasting and GU (Generation Unleashed)

I don't know what in the world I should say or how to say it, so I've decided to just spit it out, rambling or just splattering the letters onto the paper, I hope it all makes sense! May God Eternally bless you through this writing! =)

Fasting:-

Awakening the sleeping giant! A couple of weeks ago we, as a youth group called 'The Awakening', sat for a 21 day fast. Daniel fast, full fast, candy, T.V., internet, facebook, basically anything that you would call a sacrifice. I did a mix of 2 different fasts that I would rather leave un-named. Although I spent a little time praying while I was fasting, God definitely came and met me! although that was through his mercy alone. I should have been praying and intercessing for the coming conference (GU), I didn't. God is so, so good to us. it always amazes me that he sees us worthy to receive such compassion and grace. I am forever his! and NO ONE ELES'S!

21 days/3 weeks is a long time give up a certain thing, especially if its something that means a sacrifice to you! I did break my fast 1 time, because I felt that i couldn't do it anymore. But now looking back, I probably could have gone through with it the whole way. Anyway, the first few days were the hardest, and it got routinely from there. Well, it was good until my mom decided to make her son's most favorite dishes, then it got extremely hard. Every time i wanted to give in there was always the thought that because I am being tempted, I have to be doing SOMETHING right! That gave me comfort, until I broke my fast about 5 days till the end. It saddened me that i couldn't press on and finish it. So for the next 4 days, I intensely fasted. and waited for the start of the conference. At the end of 21 days, we ended up with a lot of people that were a LOT lighter and skinnier, and ready for some Jesus! GU CONFERENCE HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS ABOUT TO HIT 'EM!
